Many scholarship holders are students from suburban and rural districts. 

The DVS while providing vocational training for students, who were not academically inclined, looks after the financially disadvantaged, by granting them financial assistance to follow these courses.  Scholarships are granted to those recommended by a parish priest, old girls and DVS teachers.
